Veronika Yakobchuk (she/her) is an interdisciplinary graphic designer and researcher, born in Ukraine and currently practising in London, United Kingdom.
With over seven years of experience, I work at the intersection of branding, publishing, exhibition design, and digital media. My practice explores how emerging technologies, especially artificial intelligence, reshape intimacy, presence, and perception. Through multimedia formats and speculative design, I examine themes of emotional datafication, time, isolation, and constant surveillance. Interdisciplinary methods and psychoanalytic thought are central to my practice, serving as tools for reflecting on what it means to be seen, heard, or replaced by technology.
I draw inspiration from cinema, photography, modern art, philosophy, and other disciplines. For me, design is about balancing aesthetics with meaning, creating work that not only evokes emotion but also addresses real needs.
Central Saint Martins Graduation Show 2025
Created for one of the UK’s most prestigious student exhibitions, this identity captures the dynamic spirit of Central Saint Martins in 2025. Through animated shapes and pixelated transitions, An Act of Transformation visualises the non-linear journey of creative growth and positions CSM as a vibrant hub of change and exchange.
Slow-Dating Toolkit (2025)
My MA graduation project at Central Saint Martins is a quiet rebellion against fast, algorithmic love. This slow-dating toolkit turns datafication into a sensory process — collecting, analysing, and reconnecting through print, sound, and handwritten invitations.
Not Silent Brand (2021)
"Not Silent" is a new-generation Ukrainian fashion brand. It was created in 2021 in Kyiv. The idea was to demonstrate a fearless exploration of fashion concepts and thinking outside of the box. My role was to design an entire 2000s style project.
The Silent Words (2024)A personal project born out of my immigrant experience, The Silent Words explores the challenges of language barriers. Inspired by Lina Kostenko's poem "Words terrify when they remain unspoken", this guide for non-native speakers offers a way to engage with Ukrainian poetry.
Two Worlds, One Sky (2024)
The project is a video narrative that follows a conversation between a daughter and a voice clone of her father, who is serving in the war. But if our emotional support system becomes digitally fabricated, what would happen to us as humans?
UAnimals Kids (2023)UAnimals is a project I created during my internship at Barnbrook Studio (London) for a Ukrainian animal welfare organisation. Designed with children in mind, the branding uses playful graphics to illustrate UAnimals' work in a way that’s engaging and non-traumatic.
Le Chant (2023)
My personal project opens and closes with the phrase 'Le chant,' meaning "singing" in French. The final shot reveals a weathered signboard from an old shop once called 'Plumbers Merchants,' where only the letters 'Le chant' remain. It reflects how, in a city of constant change, some things, though covered in the dust of modernisation, hold the greatest beauty.
Photoshoot & Edit
During my internship at Barnbrook, I managed photoshoots for projects like Open Plan (SLG), Murder Maps USA (Thames & Hudson), The Horror Show (Somerset House), Extreme Beauty (ArtAsiaPacific), and others, with the images later used for official websites, social media, and marketing.
The Great Civilisations (2021)
This series of five book covers draws inspiration from iconic imagery representing some of the world’s greatest civilisations. The process required me to make a 3D model of each composition.
Media Group Ukraine (2021)
Winning first place in a competition by Media Group Ukraine, one of the country's largest media companies, this design reimagined the company logo as festive tree motifs representing its four TV channels.
